Wedding at Cabo Espichel Church & Quinta de Catralvos | Rita & João

Some love stories grow slowly and quietly, until one day you realise they have been shaping your whole life. Rita and João met when they were still in highschool, long before they could imagine that one day they would stand together at the altar. Years later, after more than fifteen years of love that began in their teenage days, they chose to celebrate their wedding surrounded by the people who shaped their story the most: their families.

Their day began in the most meaningful way - each getting ready at their parents’ homes, a tradition that filled the morning with anticipation, laughter and emotional moments between parents, siblings and grandparents. Later, they met at the altar of the beautiful and dramatic Cabo Espichel church, overlooking the Atlantic near Sesimbra. The ceremony was deeply emotional, not only because of the long journey that brought them there, but also because of the subtle details that kept loved ones present in spirit.

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at Quinta de Catralvos in Azeitão, a venue surrounded by the beautiful vineyards that define this region of Setúbal. The reception took place inside the quinta’s main hall - a former winery that still preserves the character and atmosphere of its past as a traditional Portuguese wine cellar.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening happened in the courtyard of the quinta, where they cut their wedding cake beneath the iconic string lights that illuminate the atrium of Quinta de Catralvos, creating one of the most magical scenes of the night.

Rita and João celebrated the kind of love that grows stronger with time - a love that reminds everyone around them how powerful, resilient and beautiful it can truly be.
