The origins of Santa Maria do Espinheiro date back to the 14th century, when a small chapel stood on the site, linked to the legend of a shepherd discovering an image of Our Lady on a thorn bush that burned without being consumed. Today, the former monastery has been transformed into an elegant hotel where rustic architectural details blend beautifully with refined interiors, creating spaces that feel both authentic and quietly luxurious - almost like staying in a historic palace.
